Palatal expanders were first introduced in the 1950s and used to work by using a key to crank the appliance wider, creating stress for both parents and kids. Invisalign’s system uses a series of 3D printed expanders to put gentle pressure on the upper palate. Since Invisalign’s expander process is less painful than traditional ones, this system reduces anxiety in patients compared to traditional expanders.
