Many people think that their insurance does not cover Invisalign treatment. This is wrong. While insurance pays a finite amount toward orthodontic treatment, it DOES NOT differentiate between metal braces, clear braces, or Invisalign. The only difference is that with aesthetic treatment alternatives such as Invisalign, the portion that the patient is responsible for may increase.
Coverage and benefits depends upon your insurance provider and insurance plan. Choosing a participating provider within your plan can save you money as well, since these providers have agreed to follow treatment fees that have been set by the insurance provider. The combination of a pre-determined treatment fee and insurance coverage tends to significantly reduce any out-of-pocket expenses to the patient. Flexing spending or health savings accounts may also be used to pay for the costs of treatment.
For those patients we treat who do not have dental insurance, we offer a variety of financing options, including in-house options that are interest-free. We also have payment plans that can be spread over the course of treatment, and even plans that extend past the length of treatment. We also have financing available through third parties.
