Dr. Larisa Takhalova
Dr. Larisa Takhalova grew up in Queens, NY and relocated to Albany with her husband, Eugene, and son, Michael.
Dr. Takhalova graduated summa cum laude from CUNY Queens College with a bachelor’s degree in sociology in 2006. She earned her DDS degree with high honors from New York University College of Dentistry in 2010. She then completed a one-year general practice residency at New York Hospital Queens, where she worked as an attending the following year.
Dr. Takhalova has years of experience, including as a cosmetic dentist prior to specializing in orthodontics, and is knowledgeable and seasoned in treating complex restorative cases. Her own experience with braces as a child, as well as her passion for creating aesthetically beautiful smiles, inspired her to continue her education by completing a three-year specialty training program in orthodontics at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine, where she gained extensive training in comprehensive orthodontics, Invisalign, lingual braces, temporary anchorage devices, ceramic braces, initial phase I treatment, cleft lip/palate, and dentofacial deformities.
Dr. Takhalova is an active member of the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, and Northeastern Society of Orthodontists.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
