Is the second opinion really free?
Yes. Your consultation is free, and there is no obligation to start treatment or leave your current provider.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can schedule directly, whether you already have a proposed treatment plan or simply want another specialist’s perspective before deciding.
Can you review a treatment plan from another orthodontist?
Yes. Bring your proposed plan and any recent X-rays, photos or scans you have. You can also start by submitting available records through our virtual consultation option.
Can I get a second opinion if I’m already in active orthodontic treatment?
If you are actively being treated by another orthodontist in the Capital Region, we do not provide a second opinion or take over that care as a matter of professional courtesy. If you are relocating from outside the region, we are happy to discuss reviewing your case. This policy does not apply when you have only received a proposed plan and treatment has not begun—that is exactly when a second opinion is most valuable.
Will I need to repeat my X-rays?
Not necessarily. We’ll review the quality and date of your existing records first. If anything additional is needed to give you a responsible recommendation, we’ll explain why.
What will you compare during the consultation?
