Invisalign can fix any problems that can be corrected with traditional braces.

This includes issues such as overbites, underbites, gaps, overlapping teeth, crowded teeth, and crooked teeth. Both traditional braces and Invisalign rely on the same principles of tooth movement. Braces use metal or ceramic brackets and wires to slowly shift teeth into position; Invisalign relies on a series of clear plastic aligners to do the same thing. That’s why Invisalign is such a great option for so many patients.

While Invisalign is a great option for most patients, it’s not for everyone. We recommend more traditional treatment options in the following cases:

  • Smokers – Smoking will stain and discolor aligners. You shouldn’t smoke anyway, but if you do, you should consider other treatment options.
  • Those unwilling to commit to the program – The Invisalign program requires wearing and switching aligners as instructed. If you’re unwilling or unable to wear them for roughly 22 hours each day, you will not get the most out of your treatment.
  • Those with severe oral issues – If you experience a severe over- or underbite, more serious concerns likely exist. Our experts can assess the state of your mouth to determine the best treatment option for you.

People from all walks of life love the discreet aspect of Invisalign treatment. Schedule an appointment today to review your options and see if it’s the best choice for you.
