Dr. Larisa Takhalova grew up in Queens, NY. She has recently relocated to Albany with her husband, Eugene and son, Michael. She graduated summa cum laude from CUNY Queens College with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 2006. She earned her DDS degree with high honors from New York University College of Dentistry in 2010. She completed a one-year general practice residency at New York Hospital Queens where she worked as an attending the following year. Dr. Takhalova has years of experience as a cosmetic dentist prior to specializing in orthodontics. She is knowledgeable and experienced in treating complex restorative cases. Her own experience with braces as a young child and passion for creating esthetically beautiful smiles inspired her to continue her education by completing a three-year specialty training in Orthodontics at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine gaining extensive experience in comprehensive orthodontics, Invisalign, lingual braces, temporary anchorage devices, ceramic braces, initial phase I treatment, cleft lip/palate and dentofacial deformities.
